Service Performance
Our service level target is to process 90% of applications within 14 calendar days.
The timescale is calculated from the date the application is received at Disclosure Scotland to the date the Disclosure Certificate is printed - under normal circumstances, the certificates are posted the same day as they are printed. Further time should be allowed on either side for posting and delivery by the Royal Mail.
For Standard and Enhanced applications the relevant Registered Body has a duty to process the application before forwarding it to Disclosure Scotland. This may affect the overall processing time.
For those applying for Standard or Enhanced Disclosures and who wish to enquire where their application is in the process, please contact the Registered Body in the first instance as they may still be processing the form. If the Registered Body has forwarded it to Disclosure Scotland then you can contact us, although it may be better if the Registered Body contacts us as they may have other applications to progress in addition to yours.
Applications that are incomplete or have omissions will take longer whilst we contact the applicant or Registered Body for the required information.
Applications for Enhanced Disclosures may be delayed if Disclosure Scotland has to refer to a Police Force within the United Kingdom to find out if there is additional relevant information held.
