I haven't received my Disclosure yet.  What do I need to do?

Disclosure Scotland has a Service Level Agreement (SLA) to process 90% of all Disclosures within 14 calendar days.  We request that you allow yourself at least this length of time from sending your application off to you receiving or requiring your certificate before contacting the following:-

Basic Disclosures

If you haven’t received your Disclosure after 14 days, please contact us

Standard & Enhanced

If you haven’t received your Disclosure after 14 days, please contact the Registered Body, that is, the employer or voluntary organisation, who requested that you complete a Disclosure Scotland application form.  The main reason for this is that the application form can take time to be processed by the Registered Body and forwarded to Disclosure Scotland.  If they advise that the form has been sent to Disclosure Scotland, then you can contact us, although it may be better if the Registered Body contacts us as they may have other applications to progress in addition to yours.

We’ve been asked on a number of occasions to produce copies of Disclosures which have been issued but not received by applicants or Registered Bodies.  Such cases are considered on a case-by-case basis.  If an applicant or Registered Body contacts us we will advise when we issued the Disclosure Certificate(s) and request that you contact the Royal Mail and ask that they investigate the matter further.  Only in exceptional cases, and within a certain period of time (normally 2 weeks from the recorded issue date) will we issue a copy Certificate.

The copy Certificate issued will be a duplicate of the original and will contain the same criminal conviction information – it is NOT a new check and will not omit convictions which have become spent in the interim period.
