What is a Registered Body?

A person or organisation that is likely to ask exempted questions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, or acts on behalf of groups or individuals asking exempted questions, may apply to be registered with Disclosure Scotland.

Also, any individual who employs others in the course of a business and is likely to ask exempted questions may apply to become a Registered Body.

Once registered, the individual or organisation can then countersign applications for Standard or Enhanced Disclosures.

There are separate arrangements for registering in England and Wales, details of which may be found on this website www.crb.gov.uk
