Registration
Applications for Standard and Enhanced Disclosures must be countersigned by an authorised person who has registered in advance with Disclosure Scotland and who is acting on behalf of the organisation offering the employment or voluntary work. An initial one-off registration fee of £150 includes one countersignatory. Each additional countersignatory costs £10. Smaller organisations and employers may choose to group together and seek registration as an umbrella organisation, or may apply for Disclosures through an existing registered Umbrella Body. To obtain a registration pack please contact us.
Included within the pack is a Registration Application Form and a set of Guidance Notes which should assist you in completing your application form. In addition to you submitting your completed form, you are also required to submit the following information in support of your application.
- the function of your Organisation (or function of the part of the Organisation wishing to register).
- how this function provides regular contact with children and/or adults at risk.
- the level(s) of Disclosure you will be applying for.
- the type of posts you will be seeking Disclosure for
- it should be noted that registration does not necessarily permit your organisation to carry out Disclosure checks for all of your employees but only those which are covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2003.
- confirmation that you are able to ask the exempted question within the meaning of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
- confirmation that you have read, understood and will comply with the Code of Practice published by Scottish Ministers under Section 122(1) of Part V of the Police Act 1997.
Failure to provide the above information may result in a delay to your registration. Please contact us if you require any further information or advice on this matter
